Where We Are and When We’re Open
1039 N Milwaukee Ave in Libertyville, in the Win-Mil plaza with a full parking lot, free and right outside the door. Pull in, park, walk in. Libertyville sits in the middle of northern Lake County on purpose: we’re a short drive from Vernon Hills, Mundelein, Lake Forest, Gurnee, Grayslake, Round Lake, Waukegan, and Great Lakes. A lot of our clients work in Libertyville and live further out, and the location is built for exactly that.
Hours: Tuesday through Friday 10 AM to 7 PM, Saturday 9 AM to 4 PM, Sunday by appointment only, closed Monday.
Two Ways In: Book or Walk In
Booking on Booksy is the way to lock a specific time. Every barber at The Parlor has their own Booksy calendar. Pick your barber, pick a time, and you’re confirmed in under a minute. Each barber’s service prices show up right after you select them, so there’s zero mystery about cost before you commit.
Walking in works too, with one honest caveat: appointments take priority. When you walk in, we’ll give you a straight answer on the wait, and you can hang out in the shop or come back when a chair opens. We’d rather tell you forty-five minutes and be right than tell you ten and be wrong. And if you wait with us, the soft drinks, bottled water, and snacks are free. Grab one.
First-time walk-in pricing is flat and simple: $30 kids’ haircut, $35 men’s haircut, $50 haircut plus beard, $35 line-up plus beard.
What Happens When You Sit Down
The consultation comes first, every time. Before clippers come out, your barber talks through what you want. Bring reference photos, seriously. Save two or three cuts you like to your phone before you come in. A photo settles in five seconds what five minutes of describing can’t. If you don’t have a photo, tell us how you wear your hair day to day and we’ll recommend from there.
We check in during the cut. If something’s heading a direction you didn’t picture, say so while it’s adjustable. Our barbers ask for feedback mid-cut on purpose. You’re not being difficult, you’re being useful.
The finish gets its own time. Line work, neckline, the mirror check. We cut so the style works when you live with it during the week, not just under shop lighting.
Checkout takes seconds. Cash, card, Venmo, Apple Pay. Whatever you’ve got works.
Every Hair Type Walks Through This Door
Our barbers cut every hair type and every texture: straight, wavy, curly, coily, thick, fine. Our clientele looks like northern Lake County actually looks, every background, and our barbers trained deliberately to serve all of it. If you’ve ever walked into a shop and gotten the sense they didn’t know what to do with your hair, that doesn’t happen here. It’s the reason the shop exists.
Not sure what to book? A men’s haircut covers classic tapers, modern fades, textured crops, and scissor cuts. If you want the full reset, haircut plus beard is what most of our regulars book. And if your hair is fine but your edges aren’t, the line-up plus beard is fast, sharp, and cheap.
Bringing Your Kid? Good.
Kids’ haircuts are one of our four core services, not an afterthought. The shop is family-friendly by design: family-safe music, sports on the TV, and parents wait in the same room as the chair, not behind a wall. Our barbers are patient with first-timers and nervous kids, and reviews from parents back that up. Bring a reference photo for your kid too, or let the barber recommend a style that grows out without the awkward phase.
