Libertyville sits in the middle of a lot of towns in northern Lake County, and that’s not a coincidence for us. Nikko opened The Parlor to connect neighborhoods: Vernon Hills, Mundelein, Lake Forest, Gurnee, Grayslake, Round Lake, Waukegan, and Great Lakes Naval Station. All within a short drive, all welcome in the same room.
We wanted to bring the kind of detail and culture you’d find in a hood shop into a clean, professional environment. The people of Libertyville needed to experience that level of care. No compromise, no gimmicks, just real work from real barbers.
Our barbers cut classic, modern, textured, short, long, you name it. Every hair type, every background.
Before clippers come out, we talk. You tell us what you want, we tell you what we recommend, and we get to work.
The last 10 percent of a cut is what separates a good barber from a great one. We take time at the end to make sure the cut lives with you, not just looks right in the chair.

Plenty of barbershops in Lake County cut hair. What sets The Parlor apart is how the room feels: family-safe music, sports on the TV, clients greeted like we’ve known them for years. We treat people relationally, not transactionally. That shows up in the consultation, in the cut, in the check-in, and in the conversation.
We also invest in being competent across every style. Black hair, White hair, Hispanic hair, Indian hair, Asian hair. Straight, curly, wavy, coily. Fades, scissor cuts, textured crops, long and styled. Our clientele reflects Libertyville, and our barbers have trained to serve all of it well.
